A complete redesign of the cashier experience focused on improving usability.
Role: Product Designer
Responsibilities: UX/UI Design | Interaction Design | Design System | Cross-functional collaboration
Platforms: Mobile-first, responsive web
The cashier is a core feature of the platform, allowing users to:
• Deposit funds
• Withdraw money
• Manage payment methods
• Track transaction history
The experience directly impacts conversion and revenue, making it a critical product area.
The existing cashier experience was outdated and difficult to navigate.
Key issues included:
• Complex and unintuitive flows
• Lack of clarity across payment methods
• Poor mobile experience
• Friction during deposit and withdrawal processes
These issues negatively impacted user confidence and conversion rates.
The project involved several constraints:
• Dependency on external providers for backend integrations
• Limitations on modifying certain legacy functionalities
• Need to deliver an MVP for testing
These constraints required balancing ideal solutions with feasible implementations.
Redesign the cashier to:
• Increase deposit conversion rates
• Simplify payment and withdrawal flows
• Improve mobile usability
• Create a scalable and modern interface
I led the redesign of the cashier experience from UX definition to final UI, working closely with frontend developers to ensure feasibility and consistency.
Key contributions:
• Analyzed industry patterns across similar platforms
• Defined user flows
• Designed the full UI experience
• Built the design system for the cashier
• Created responsive layouts for mobile and web
• Designed states (error, success, loading) across payment methods
The redesign focused on simplifying the experience while supporting multiple payment methods and user needs.
Key principles:
• Mobile-first design
• Clear and guided payment flows
• Visibility of balance at all times
• Quick access to deposit actions
• Modular structure to support future features
Deposits
• Card payments
• SPEI transfers
• Apple Pay
• Todito Cash
• Cash deposits
Withdrawals
• SPEI
• OXXO
The interface needed to standardize these flows while handling different requirements per method.

Clear step-by-step interaction reduced friction during payments.

Users can always see their balance and access deposit actions from anywhere.

Returning users can complete transactions faster.

Filters allow users to easily track deposits and withdrawals.

Clear feedback for:
• success
• error
• pending states

• bonuses and loyalty points integration
• scalable sections for future features
The redesigned cashier was released under A/B testing conditions.
Results showed:
• higher conversion rates compared to the previous version
• improved user flow efficiency
This validated the effectiveness of the redesigned experience.
Due to technical and business constraints, some proposed improvements were not included in the initial release.
The MVP focused on delivering the highest-impact changes while allowing room for future iterations.
Designing the cashier highlighted the importance of balancing user experience, technical constraints, and business goals.
Working closely with engineering ensured that the design was both scalable and feasible, while A/B testing validated the impact of design decisions on conversion.
